August 8 in Denmark, August 20 in Germany, September 7 in Spain, September 28 in Malta… Did you know that not all European children go back to school on the same day ? In fact, the beginning of the school year in the European Union member states is spread out from the beginning of August to the end of September. In France, it is Thursday, September 1st that marked the return to school, as in Latvia, Ireland or Poland!
It is thus on this first day of September 2022 that the European School Lille Metropole opened its doors to the 465 primary and secondary students. It was an opportunity for the entire teaching team and staff to welcome the “old timers” and the hundred or so new students and their families. Other good news: the school is still growing with the opening of P4 and S4 classes.
It is thus within the temporary buildings that the school bags have found their place. They will not have to get used to it too much since the next school year will be in the new school, currently under construction on the rue Charcot site!
In the meantime, it’s time to wish everyone a great 2022-2023 school year filled with learning, goodwill, great projects… and beautiful smiles!
