On this page, you will find a description of the admissions criteria, as well as the different steps of the admissions calendar.
Admissions criteria
Students are admitted to EELM according to an order of priorities established jointly by the Secretariat General of the European Schools, the Rectorat de Lille and French local authorities. Thus, each application file is classified in a category. The category of each application is defined based on a series of criteria and documents which you will find below.

4 – Children of families moving to the region, one of whose legal guardians is in a situation of international mobility within a regional company | Language test in L1 if the requested section does not correspond to the child’s mother tongue L2 language test for secondary students | · Certificate from the employer · Cover letter detailing the European project of the family |
5 – Children who show exceptional abilities in foreign languages whose families want a European education. The applications of students eligible for a national grant or in similar financial situation will be considered with additional care. | Language test in L1 if the requested section does not correspond to the child’s mother tongue L2 language test for secondary students | · Cover letter detailing the European project of the family · School certificate for students who have previously been taught in a multilingual school · Quotient familial certificate for families would like their financial situation to be examined. |
Admissions calendar for september 2024
Information meetings
Tuesday January 23th (6 p.m. – 8 p.m.): online information meeting (in French), registration online. The link to register will be provided later.
Thursday January 25th (6 p.m. – 8 p.m.): online information meeting (in English). The link to register will be provided later.
Admissions
February 5th – March 9th
1st phase of admissions: families complete admissions files online.
March 10th – April 4th
Admission files are reviewed
April 3th: Beginning of the language tests (at school if possible).
May
- Admission decisions for the 1st phase are sent to families; they have to confirm their choice. If no decision is made, the school considers that they give up their spot.
- Waiting list: Families of students on the waiting list are contacted via email. If families don’t answer, the school considers that they give up their spot.
June
- Official admission letters are sent.
- Enrollment: Families enroll the students – via mail or in person at the EELM
June-July-August
2nd phase of admissions
Only families in categories 1, 2 and 4 (arriving in France in June, July and August) are eligible.
Please note that this phase is only open to families arriving from abroad this summer.
